Dare to Drink Different
Social media ads and the taste test results page for Swinkels' specialty beer platform.
01
The Brief
Dare to Drink Different is the specialty beer platform of Swinkels Family Brewers. At the center of it sits the smaaktest: a two minute taste test, put together with their beer sommeliers, that matches you to one of six flavor profiles and recommends a personal beer package from a portfolio of over 500 specialty beers.
Swinkels asked Enversed to build the onepager around that test. The test itself was made by another company and ran inside our page as an embedded frame. Our job was everything around it: the page, the results presentation, and the connection to Swinkels' own systems, all hosted inside their BigCommerce webshop. On top of that, they wanted short social media videos to promote the test.

My Approach
The project had two sides for me: a small development job on the page and the motion design work for the videos.
The results page. My colleague built the HTML page, and I wrote the JavaScript that brings it to life. When someone finishes the test, the embedded frame sends out their scores across all six flavor profiles. My script picks that up and builds the results view: profiles sorted by match percentage, score bars filled in, descriptions and icons swapped to match, and the recommended beer packages shown with the discount already calculated. The page supported two result layouts so the client could test which one converted better, and results were stored in the browser so they survived a page refresh.
The key piece was the link to SAP, the system Swinkels uses for marketing. Based on your winning flavor profile, the script loads the matching SAP signup form and passes the test's session ID along with it. So when someone leaves their email address, their full taste profile travels into Swinkels' system together with the lead, and follow-up mails can be tailored to what they actually like. I also added analytics events on every step (results loaded, package viewed, order clicked, signup submitted, test retaken) so the client could see exactly where people dropped off in the funnel.
The videos. I made the promo videos on my own in After Effects, with Illustrator and Photoshop for preparing the graphic elements, most of which Swinkels delivered from their brand campaign. There were two versions, one targeted at men and one at women, and each came in a square format for feeds and a vertical 9:16 format for stories.

The Result
A live smaaktest page inside the Dare to Drink Different webshop, where the third-party test, the results view, the beer package offers, and the SAP marketing connection all work together as one experience. Next to that, four short social media ads: two audience versions, each in two formats.

Outcome
The smaaktest is still live at daretodrinkdifferent.nl/smaaktest, more than three years after launch, and remains the entry point for personal beer recommendations on the Dare to Drink Different platform.
03 / About
Concept first, medium second
I'm Ramon, a multimedia designer based in Eindhoven. Projects start with a problem: what the thing has to do, and how someone should move through it. The answer has been a 360 film, a VR walkthrough, an explainer animation, a configurator and an AI training platform.
My part is 3D, design and code: modelling and lighting in Blender, interface and motion in XD/Illustrator and After Effects, and the build in PlayCanvas or Next.js.
